CFFA COMMITTEES

Labor

Responsible for Local 660 involvement and participation in IAFF, AFL-CIO, and NCAFL-CIO. Activities include engaging in political process within Labor, organizing, job actions, etc.

Budget/Audit

This committee will meet at least quarterly to monitor financial obligations of Local 660. It will consist of the Treasurer, and the Trustees.

Legislative

A non-partisan effort, this committee will monitor, and lobby as needed any proposed and existing legislation that may effect career firefighters.

Human Relations

Local 660 remains committed to Human Relations, striving forward with CFD in continued efforts to reflect the diversity of our members and the community we serve.

Health & Safety

The IAFF, along with Local 660, considers Health & Safety a primary concern, and a priority of our Union. Local 660 will be on the forefront within CFD in the weeks to come.

Constitution & By-Laws

The IAFF, through Convention Action, renews and amends the IAFF Constitution and By-Laws every two years. Local 660 will also need to update/amend accordingly.

Good and Welfare

This committee will work closely with the Fellowship of Christian Firefighters to assist members as may be required in times of need.

Retiree

Retirement entitlements are under constant attack from politicians, and Local 660 has a strong history of fighting back against any take away attempts. This active committee will remain vigilant and on guard to protect our pensions and benefits.

Educational/Standards

IAFF, IAFC, NFPA, OSHA all have input in the standards of our profession. This committee will monitor the various laws and regulations and will keep Local 660 updated.

Assembly

The Assembly is the actual name of your Union bar/lounge at the Palmer Building. Fully licensed by all governmental agencies, it is compliant with all applicable laws. This committee will be responsible for maintaining it as such.
